1 DUI arrest/14 cited at Santa Paula DUI Checkpoint

Santa Paula, Calif. – 1 Arrested for DUI, 1 cited for open container of alcohol, 13 cited for driving without a license, while conducting a DUI checkpoint on December 18, 2020.

The checkpoint was held at Harvard Blvd. and Laurie Lane from 6 PM to Midnight.

Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.

As the state continues to work to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Santa Paula Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
