11th Annual Simi Community Christmas questions how has your life changed, “Because of Him”

The 11th Annual Interfaith Simi Community Christmas an International Créche Display & Musical Performances begins with hundreds of magnificent nativities from around the world in artistic settings designed by  “Mother & Daughter” teams and with “live” Christmas musical performances  for a three-day event beginning December 2nd through Dec 4th, 2016, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm each night.

“Simi Community Christmas”(SCC)  will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 480 Sinaloa Road, Simi Valley, California 93065. The family event is offered as a gift to the community and is FREE.

This years theme of the SCC will be Because of Him .  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).  “This year we wanted to get teenagers of Simi Valley involved in this wonderful event. We have asked Mother and Daughter teams to be our unique set designers, and are excited to see how their love for Christ shows through in the beautiful displays. We want this year to be simple, peaceful, and give those attending a chance to reflect on how “Because of Him” our lives have been changed.”explains Laura Payne, Creché design director.

The exhibit is continuously evolving in community participation. Crèches are displayed from the very elaborate to simple child-like expressions and created from many mediums and textures.  The center of the displays will host a “Live” Nativity.  There will also be a special children’s center where there will be crafts, activities and costumes to dress-up and act out a live nativity.  There will also be a game for the older kids, “Seek and Find” through the main exhibit.
