The harbor can accommodate a few such craft and is able to provide support services, has nearby hotels (not that any would be needed for Lagniappe passengers), restaurants, meeting facilities, shops and an airport only minutes away.  Channel Islands Harbor is wonderfully uncrowded and laid back compared to other SoCal ports of call.  It is also the nearest point of access- the gateway- to the Channel Islands and within easy striking distance of Santa Barbara, Malibu, LA and points south.

Ventura County beaches are wide, sandy, accessible, clean and uncrowded. Nearby Ormond Beach has some of the best bird viewing in Southern California, with a knowledgeable caretaker and docents to show you around (open during daylight hours).
