16 Year Old Shot in Ventura

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

On October 20th at 8:30 PM, the Ventura Police Command Center received numerous 911 calls regarding a shooting that just occurred at the 700 block of Riverside Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found a 16-year-old male suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered first aid and were soon assisted by Ventura City Firefighters and AMR Paramedics. The victim was then immediately transported to a local hospital.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned the victim was standing outside an apartment complex when multiple gunshots were fired from a vehicle passing through the intersection. Ventura Police Department Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and there is no further information at this time. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Matt Cain at 805-339-4488.
