Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On August 18, 2020, Simi Valley traffic personnel stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation in the area of Los Angeles Ave and Bridget Ave. As the vehicle pulled over, the driver fled from the vehicle. A check of the vehicle showed that it was stolen from the L.A. area.
A perimeter was quickly established as additional resources converged on the area.
A police canine was used to search for the suspect where he was discovered hidden in thick brush along the railroad tracks.
The suspect, a 33 year old resident of the San Fernando Valley, was taken into custody and booked for vehicle theft and resisting arrest.
