2,000 join rally against Newsom’s stay-at-home coronavirus orders at California’s Capitol

Editor’s Note: Attendees and organizers say there were over 15,000 protesters present, not 2000

It was the largest protest rally in Sacramento so far over COVID-19 shutdowns — with haircuts on the side.

At least 2,000 demonstrators came to the Capitol on Saturday to march around the grounds, feast on barbecue and demand that Gov. Gavin Newsom lift his restrictions on business, religious gatherings and other trappings of everyday life.

The demonstration, dubbed Liberty Fest, was a cross between a tailgate party, music festival and political statement. Organizers said it would be country’s largest Memorial Day weekend protest against coronavirus stay-at-home orders.

A massive throng gathered along 10th Street, facing the west steps of the Capitol, with hundreds arriving hours before the official noon start. Two busloads came from Southern California, organized by anti-vaccination protesters.

LOL! Liberal media says 2,000 showed up. Did they arrive after it ended? Attendees said 100,000. Any aerial photos/videos?

Great photos! Thank You Beverly and Barbara! The crowd size is totally underreported. The way you count a crowd is count 10 individuals at a time and count 10 groups at a time. Then estimate how many groups of 100 there are.

Recalling Newsom isn’t enough. The situation is too critical and the emergency too great. He and Xavier Becerra (and many other state, county and city officials) need to be arrested and prosecuted forthwith for violating our civil and constitutional rights. They must be removed from office IMMEDIATELY.
