3 Dead in Ventura Traffic Accident on South Bound 101

On July 27 12:05AM, the Ventura City Fire was dispatched to a reported vehicle accident south bound 101, one half mile south of Seaward Ave.  Upon arrival firefighters found 2 vehicles involved in a high speed head on collision. One vehicle was cantilevered over the guard rail of the lemon grove bridge while the second vehicle remained on the roadway 50 yards to the north.  A total of three adult victims were discovered in the two vehicles. Firefighters searched the surrounding area for additional victims; none were discovered.   All three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

No firefighters were injured as a result of this incident.  The cause of accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
