As a cancer patient at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, 4-year-old strong, kindhearted Payslee with a heart of gold wanted to do something to give back this holiday season. Her idea was to set up a toy drive, so she could help all the other children in her shoes receive a special gift. When Steve Yapp, owner of local PODS Moving & Storage, heard about Payslee’s wonderful idea, he and his team were eager to help.
“Despite caring for their own daughter, they are working to make her dream a reality by giving back to the many families that are currently at the hospital,” said Yapp. “It’s stories like Payslee’s that put things into perspective for the rest of us this holiday season, and we are just happy to bring this incredible story to fruition.”
The moving and storage leader will donate the use of a PODS container for the toys to be collected for the duration of the drive through January 1st. PODS will then bring the toy-filled container to the Children’s Hospital to drop off the donated toys.
“Payslee amazes us daily and is a reminder that we are given curveballs in life, some bigger than others, said Sean Haworth, Payslee’s father. “We are so grateful for the support we have received from the community and from PODS Tri-Counties, and we hope we can help bring awareness to pediatric cancer and blood donations this holiday season while putting some smiles on some families that have our same struggles.”
