By Dan Pinedo and George Miller

Seven candidates running for office in Oxnard and Port Hueneme, California hosted campaign kickoffs on Saturday September 17, 2016 at College Park in Oxnard. They are marketing themselves as a team to improve the community. They were available for questions and each also made a brief speech.

Oxnard  Candidates present were: Armando Sepulveda-Mayor  David Albanese- City Council,  Jonathan Royas- Treasurer, Bryan Patino- City Clerk

… and Port Hueneme city council candidate Oscar Sandoval, Hueneme School District board candidates Sarah Bezares and Cesar Ramirez also spoke.

These people are clearly dedicated community residents, business and family-oriented, not politicians, mostly home-grown. The speeches were mostly general and a bit vague but focused on the main ideas of improving the community, straightening out their respective cities and school boards.

A few threw in liberal portions of their speeches en Español just in case it wasn’t already clear that they can communicate with the very large Oxnard/PH Latino demographic, when needed.
