9 Cited at Simi Valley DUI Checkpoint

The Simi Valley Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint. The checkpoint was held at First Street and Easy Street from 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

1146 vehicles were screened, resulting in 8 drivers being cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and one driver was cited for violation of license restrictions. One vehicle was towed.

Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
As the state continues to work to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Simi Valley Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
