Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On 10-16-19, the Thousand Oaks Investigations Bureau served a residential search warrant in Newbury Park and arrested Brandon Stein and Jennifer Martin for multiple charges related to property crimes, narcotics and child endangerment.
The investigation began when an astute citizen, who had been the victim of a vehicle burglary, recognized the possible suspect and alerted deputies. On 10-2-19, the victim parked her car at the Wendy Dr./ Potrero Rd. trailhead and observed a subject standing near his vehicle when she left for her run. When she returned from her run, the subject was gone, and she discovered her car window had been smashed and her purse was stolen. The victim’s credit card was used at a local 7-Eleven. On 10/7/19, the victim returned to the trailhead and saw the same subject standing by his vehicle. The victim was able to document the subject’s vehicle information and physical description.
The victim reported the information to deputies who immediately notified Thousand Oaks Police detectives. Detectives were able to quickly analyze the information and confirmed the subject she had encountered at the trailhead was the suspect. The suspect was identified as Brandon Stein and detectives authored a search warrant for his home and vehicles.
At the execution of the search warrant, detectives found evidence of mail theft, stolen property, drug possession and drug paraphernalia. Brandon Stein and his fiancé, Jennifer Martin, both lived at the location with their two young children.
I wonder if this dude ever driving around delivering newspapers for the Venture Star driving a white car. If so I still have video of him entering my truck while he was working back in February this year.
