Channel Islands Harbor Easter “Honk ‘N Wave Flash Mob” Boat Parade

    By George Miller

Some enterprising folks staged a Channel Islands Harbor (Oxnard) Easter small boat “Honk “N Wave Flash Mob” parade on Saturday afternoon. Dozens – an estimated at least 70 (that’s more than the Christmas Parade of Lights) – of mostly small, mostly electric, boats swarmed around the harbor. A good time was had by all, participants and spectators alike. It’s the most boat traffic we have seen since the pandemic crisis  and various “lockdowns” and restrictions were imposed last month. It looks like “social distancing” was practiced and no COVID-19 casualties were expected.

Also saw this message about it on NextDoor.com ….

I am so proud of our Harbor community! This whole thing began with an idea, an email and a couple phone calls. Today we had tremendous support from our Harbor community. We lost count at 70 boats! We put smiles on a bunch of faces at a time we all needed it! WOW! For us, we moved here 3 1/2 years ago not knowing what to expect other than we were about to live our dream of being on the water. Little did we know how tight this community truly is! What a great place to live! Thank you everyone!
