    County of Ventura, COVID-19 Update 6/22/20

    Good Afternoon, Here’s your COVID-19 update from the County of Ventura. The numbers reflect data from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

    Stats from 6/19, 6/20, 6/21

    195 new cases

    2,030 total cases

    1,381 recovered cases

    51 hospitalizations

    18 in the ICU

    606 active cases under quarantine

    43 deaths (1 additional death 96 year old male with comorbidity)

    4,285 new people tested

    49, 193 total people tested

    Antibody Testing: The Ventura County Health Care Agency is offering free covid-19 antibody testing. The test is a blood test that tells individuals if they have been previously exposed to COVID-19 and have developed antibodies to the disease. Testing is offered at locations throughout the County. More information at: https://www.venturacountyrecovers.org/antibody/ or by calling 805-482-1904. The testing is part of a study with UCLA and California Lutheran University.

    Masks: The State of California requires face coverings in indoor public spaces, unless exempted by state guidelines for specific public settings (e.g., schools or childcare centers). Cloth face coverings or masks help reduce the spread of coronavirus especially when combined with physical distancing and frequent hand washing. All people in California, including those in Ventura County, must wear face coverings in public indoor spaces and outdoors when six-foot distancing is not possible.     Ventura County Pandemic Rental Assistance Program Applications Available The program may provide temporary rental assistance for Ventura County residents with very low incomes who owe past-due rent because of a hardship due to COVID-19. Online applications will be accepted June 17 – July 1, 2020. Learn more at www.vcemergency.com/rent.

    Ventura County Business Assistance Grant Program applications launch June 24-July 8, 2020. The program includes grants of $5,000 for small businesses to alleviate impacts from COVID-19. Learn more at  www.vcreopens.com.

    Guidance for business: Additional businesses were permitted to reopen as of June 19. These sectors may reopen with modifications, social distancing protocols and completion of the attestation process at www.vcreopens.com.  

    • Personal Services: Nail salons, massage, skin care and cosmetology services, electrolysis, body art, tattoo parlors and piercing shops
    1. Can be open as of June 19, 2020.
    2. Facial massages, waxing, tattoos, makeup, piercings or electrolysis services may be performed so long as they can be done without the removal of the client’s mask.
    3. There is a 30-minute limitation on procedures and massages conducted in confined spaces. A confined space is a room without an open window. If a window is open in a room the procedure can be longer than 30 min.
    4. Personal services are required to follow the state guidance at https://covid19.ca.gov/pdf/expanded-personal-services.pdf.
    • Movie Theaters
    1. Must follow the state guidance https://covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-family-entertainment.pdf.
    2. Can open June 26, 2020.
    • Wedding Ceremonies

    1) Outdoor wedding ceremonies may be performed with up to 100 persons present who can be safely physically distanced or a lesser number up to what the venue can safely support.

    2) Indoor wedding ceremonies with 25% capacity or up to 100 people, whichever is less.

    3) No reception or party permitted.
