The Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) is finally over 23 days too late as Seattle Police Department officers moved in and dismantled the lawless zone which resulted in four shootings and two murders.
Why did it take so long? Who do we hold accountable? How about Democrat Washington Governor Jay Inslee and Democrat Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan who both supported CHOP in the early days with such comments as:
“I spoke with Mayor Jenny and her team about the situation on Capitol Hill…the area is largely peaceful,” said Inslee. “Peaceful protests are fundamentally American.”
“Seattle is fine. Don’t be so afraid of Democracy,” said Durkan to President Donald J. Trump. Mayor Durkan called the area a “Summer of Love.”
Republican leaders responded today:
“Finally, twenty-some days and several deaths too late,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky). “The rule of law must not fade in and out with the fashions of the radical left.”
“Boy, nation-states seem to be lasting shorter and shorter,” said Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tx). “Is it still the Summer of Love?” #NowThatCHAZIsGone.”
The Seattle Police did not move o demolish CHOP until an Executive order was issued regarding the Seattle East Precinct which had also been taken over by the protesters:
Interesting enough, the Seattle mayor did not act until it became evident that a political war had been unleashed between her and Socialist Seattle Council Member Kshama Sawant who allowed hundreds of protesters into City Hall and allegedly spearheaded a protest at the mayor’s home (at a private address not disclosed to members of the public due to a state confidentiality program and safety concerns). The Seattle mayor had previously served as a U.S. district attorney.
Mayor Durkan is now using a city law that allows the council to “punish or expel” a member for “disorderly or otherwise contemptuous behavior.” Kshama had earlier called for the resignation of the Seattle mayor and had also criticized the Seattle Police Department.
What was the outcome of CHOP–the police free zone?
- Four shot (two teens killed: a 19-year-old and a 16-year old).
- Seattle East Police Precinct taken over.
- Police response times tripled with officers responding only to “life-threatening” situations.
Do you want police free zones in Ventura County? Then be prepared for a rise in crime–especially in our minority communities. No police means more chaos and murders. This is insanity!
The Governor and Mayor were MIA (Missing In Action). MSNBC called CHOP a peaceful zone. CNN called CHOP a street festival which was refuted on live TV by a CHOP demonstrator.
