Social distancing guidelines will be respected. We will spend a morning with washable chalk pens to write No On Prop 16 on our cars and listen to our honored guest speakers. The famous civil rights leader Leo Terrell spoke on the dangers of Prop 16 at our highly successful Arcadia car rally (8/8). Many other speakers in Irvine, such as our own members, Vijay Ingam and Betty Tom Chu will be informing the public on the injustice of Prop 16 (8/22 – note the date change).
As Asian Americans, we will be the hardest hit especially on the education side. It’s our time to stand up for our rights.

    Initiatives

Help Us Fight ACA5 (NO on Prop 16)
This year, board director Joy Chen, leads our political efforts, in partnership with Californians For Equal Rights (CFER), the official No on 16 group, as we fight the repeal of 1996’s Prop 209, which was a definitive statement on equality, barring discrimination based on race, gender, national origin, etc. In 2020, we have slid backwards and the California legislature wants to repeal this statement.  Protecting meritocracy is our number one priority.
