Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On November 1 at 6:53 AM Ventura Police Command Center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 2200 Block of Pierpont Blvd. The resident reported he was asleep in his bedroom when he woke up to the suspect, Rafael Moreno, inside of his bedroom. The resident was able to chase Moreno out of the residence out to the street, where Patrol officers contacted Moreno.
It was discovered Moreno had entered the residence through an unlocked door and entered the resident’s bedroom. Moreno was arrested for residential burglary. No residents or officers were injured during this incident.
A search of the Ventura County Superior Court website shows Moreno has previous arrests for Prowling, Vandalism, Resisting a Peace Officer, Possession of Narcotics and Paraphernalia, and theft-related offenses. The Ventura Police Department would like to remind residents to secure their residences and vehicles routinely.
