    Santa Paula PD catch suspect after vehicle pursuit

    On Wednesday, 12/23/20 at approximately 0112 hours, a vehicle fled from an officer eastbound on Harvard Blvd from Steckel Drive.  The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle and after activating overhead red and blue lights with siren, the vehicle failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.  The pursuit continued through surface streets in the city for approximately 6 minutes at speeds in excess of 100 MPH before the driver fled on foot after driving to the rear of the apartment complex located at 500 Acacia Road.  The officer gave chase and while doing so, was able to positively identify the driver as Anthony Mosqueda.  Mosqueda had two felony warrants is on active PROS.  During the foot chase, Mosqueda was able to take refuge in an unknown associate’s residence.  

    At 1525 hours, Officers of the Santa Paula Police Departments Special Enforcement unit responded to assist School Resource Officers who were conducting follow up at 524 Acacia Road on an unrelated case.  During that follow up it was learned that Mosqueda may be hiding in the residence, as this residence was that of his sister.  Mosqueda was located inside the residence hiding in a closet and was taken into custody for the two felony warrants and 2800.2 CVC, felony evading.  Mosqueda’s sister, Rubie Mosqueda was also arrested on unrelated charges.  Anyone with additional information related to this casein encouraged to contact the Santa Paula Police Department at 805-525-4474
