    Arrest Made in TO Murder Investigation

     

    On May 22, 2022, at approximately 0334 hours, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to a subject disturbing call in the 1800 block of West Hillcrest Drive in the City of Thousand Oaks. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased adult male appearing to have suffered multiple stab wounds. The subject was later identified as 24-year-old Oliver Willis.

    During the investigation, detectives identified (A) Alain Alvarez as a suspect in the homicide of Oliver Willis. On May 25, 2022, at approximately 1629 hours, Alvarez was contacted in the City of Thousand Oaks and was arrested for an unrelated misdemeanor charge. Alvarez was transported to the Thousand Oaks Police Station.

    Detectives obtained a search warrant for Alvarez’ person and obtained additional evidence linking Alvarez to the homicide. Alvarez was arrested for one felony count of Penal Code Section 187(a)-Murder in connection to Willis’ death.

    On May 26, 2022, Alvarez was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where he is currently being held in lieu of a $515,000.00 bail. He has a scheduled arraignment in Ventura County Superior Court on May 31, 2022, at 1:30PM, in Courtroom #13.
