The Negro Baseball Leagues:  An American Legacy

    0

    Saturday, February 11, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In this multimedia lecture presentation, Byron Motley brings to life an era that was prosperous and exciting, yet a time when men who simply wanted to “play ball” were ostracized by the color of their skin.  Byron’s own father is the last surviving umpire from the leagues.  Byron discusses the history of the Negro Baseball Leagues and how our lives today have been impacted by them.  A short clip will be shown from an upcoming documentary Motley is producing on the subject.
