A Pictorial–Around the County with Donna Hendricks: Santa Cruz Island

By Donna Hendricks

I recently went to one of our nation’s treasures, Santa Cruz Island. It’s an hour’s boat ride with Island Packers, but it seems like a world away. There is so much to do there; lots of hiking trails, unique plants, animals and sea caves, just to name a very few. My favorite is the Island Fox. It’s about the size of a house cat, and only found on these islands.

And they were worried about Island Foxes becoming extinct just a few years ago.
