    Additional Narcotics Arrests

Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

On May 13, 2020, detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation into Juana Gonzalez of Los Angeles and Pablo De Leon from Gardena for narcotics sales to residents of Ventura County.

Detectives conducted surveillance on Gonzalez and De Leon in the 800 Block of Los Angeles Avenue in the City of Moorpark. Gonzalez had her two grandchildren, ages 9 and 13, with her in the car. Detectives subsequently contacted Gonzalez and De Leon. During a search of Gonzalez’ vehicle, detectives found approximately 2358 grams or 5 pounds of heroin and U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from narcotic sales. The drugs were inside the car, near where both children were seated.

Based on the investigation, both Gonzalez and De Leon were arrested for sales and transportation of narcotics and child endangerment. Deputies from the Moorpark Police Station booked Gonzalez and De Leon at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Ventura County Child Protective Services was notified, and the children were released to their parents.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value between $140,000 and $190,000. Heroin is a contributor to both fatal and non-fatal overdoses taking place in Ventura County. The Narcotics Unit is committed to aggressively target narcotics sales and help combat opiate overdoses in Ventura County. The Narcotics Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Oxnard Police Department.

Is there a “Grandparenting Magazine” in current publication? If so, this lady will NOT be making the cover any time soon…
