Advisory | Dispose of all Romaine Lettuce – E. coli contamination

Due to E. coli contamination from romaine lettuce grown in Yuma Arizona there is an advisory to dispose of all the lettuce, including chopped lettuce in packaged salad mixes.  The advisory has been extended to 16 states, including one case in Alaska, and has resulted in several kidney failures. No fatalities have been reported but the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) has advised that all romaine lettuce be discarded.
