Air conditioner theft suspect arrested
Since January of this year the Simi Valley Police Department has been investigating a series of air conditioner thefts that have been occurring during nighttime hours. Several locations throughout the city, doctor including local businesses and churches have been targeted, with a total loss of over $89,000.00.

On April 4, 2015, at approximately 4:30 am, a Patrol Officer observed a pick-up truck driving through the parking lot of a medical building located in the 2800 block of Sycamore Drive. The officer noticed that the bed of the truck contained two air conditioner units. The driver of the truck was contacted and through investigation it was determined that the air conditioners, in the truck, were reported stolen from a local church on March 31, 2015.
The driver of the truck was identified as Simi Valley resident, Gabino Cruz (35 years). Cruz was arrested for Grand Theft and booked at the Ventura County Jail.
