LFE aircraft are expected to operate during daylight hours out of NBVC Point Mugu from March 11 to March 23. The purpose of this exercise is to provide unit-level training for pilots and aircrews on the Point Mugu Sea Range.
Communities in the Camarillo and Oxnard area may experience increased jet activity and noise during this time.

Well said C E. I grew up on Air Force bases and I love the air shows! The pilots are up there are learning invaluable training so they can protect us. We remain free because of their service. I hope they go supersonic!
Well said 🙂
For those who find the jet noise “objectionable” consider this: When you hear a jet overhead you don’t have to duck under cover until you ascertain that it is friendly.
Why is that?
Because we have the best trained pilots in the world. How do they get that way? They fly and they practice. Our fighter pilots get more hours in the cockpit than any other country in the world, including the two other super powers. It is hours in the cockpit that enable our pilots to achieve air superiority. I’m happy to hear the roar of the jets overhead. I know that that is somebody’s father, son, grandson, husband, brother, sister, wife, mother, daughter who is getting the time in cockpit so that he or she is totally familiar with the operation of the a/c and doesn’t have to think about its operation. He or she is free to concentrate on combat activities if necessary. That ability to concentrate on combat operations and the ability to automatically operate the a/c is what brings them back to their family.
Whatever VMF unit it is, welcome to Point Mugu and Ventura County.
