All Life Matters

There is an obvious backlash building to the Black Life Matters movement, not just from the No Life Matters thugs but from the All Life Matters movement and all Americans in general.

First, let’s not play semantics.  There appear to be two organizations with the same title, Black LIVES Matter and Black LIFE Matters.   Each has a Facebook page and unless they come together to untangle the issue of who speaks for whom, there may be confusion.

Black Lives Matter (Official #BlackLivesMatter Organization founded by Patrisse Cullors,Opal Tometi, and Alicia Garza) http://www.blacklivesmatter.com/ is apparently disavowed by Black Life Matters over the semantic issue of the meaning, real and implied of the words Life and Lives.

Black Life Matters (http://www.blacklifematters.org/ ) does have a Mission Statement, which  in part, says “Black Life Matters believes that all life matters”, yet later in this mission statement they try to make the point that only they, African Americans, can solve the problem of racism and hatred.  This implies that they can change peoples’ minds and philosophies.  They do not offer as statement as to how they plan to accomplish the task.  So far they have demonstrated which only inconveniences people.

The Mission statement goes on to say, “That being said, there are specific matters that categorically face the African American community.  Issues that can only be addressed if we, the African American people, work together to solve them.”

 “Our mission is to see that victory through for every man, woman, and child in the African American community.” The Mission Statement ends with this phrase, as though all but African-Americans are excluded from the “victory”.

Their point seems to imply that those who are not African Americans do not care about black lives and that only Black Life Matters can change the minds of others.  Personally, I think their main focus should first be on cleaning up the mess created by the No Life Matter thugs within the African American Community who account for most the murders and killings of Blacks.

Think of what would happen if two of the above three, or four movements would come together for the better good of all Americans.  “United we stand and divided we fall” could be the motto of the blending of these Movements.  Its Mission Statement could be short and succinct, “For the betterment of America”

Racism, hatreds, and beliefs have their roots not so much in culture but in the hearts of people.  People undeniably seek out mates with similar feelings and beliefs, and as they raise their children they teach them their beliefs.

When you put toddlers, age three or younger of all races and ethnicities together they will gravitate to each other and engage in “play”.  That is the nature of the Human being, to be social.  Absent the influence of the parents and family, children do not “hate”, they interact with each other.  In time, if left “alone” they will select  their “favorite” playmates and began to form groups, just as adults do, but without introduced prejudices.

If Racism is to die, then each of us must be the “killer”.  Let it begin with those, as myself, who do not believe they are prejudiced, and continue with those who do not have someone of another race or ethnicity within their group of friends or acquaintances, and lastly, with those who do believe that some people of a race other than theirs, are different or inferior.

In my retired career I co-founded the National Association Against Child Cruelty, and then The Children’s Wall of Tears™ (http://www.thecwot.org).  My wife and I honor children killed through abuse by including their names and stories on The Wall. 

Each Child’s death is documented and verified, so we have read the stories and seen the videos.  Believe me, regardless of the circumstances, regardless of the color, race, nationality, or ethnicity, to someone out there, each life matters, be it an adult or a child.
