Along the wind swept hills: A pictorial of Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park
We have had the pleasure of featuring the work of award winning photojournalist, Dana Rene who is based in Washington D.C. Well as the old saying goes, the apple really never falls far from the tree. William Hicks told us about Dana’s first camera, a Single Lens Reflex. He gave it to her when she was in Junior High School, and he taught her some of the basics in photography. He told us that, “At that point we were joined at the hip.”
Dana is a local, raised here by a father who must have passed down more than a few artistic genes to his progeny as you will see by the photos below. Hicks took them in the Rancho Sierra Vista Park above Newbury Park where he and his wife reside.
