During my lifetime most Republican nominees for Supreme Court Justice have been not just criticized but subjected to character assassination. Bork, Thomas, Alito, and especially, Brett Kavanaugh were treated unconscionably.
Democrats used the same argument to justify their behavior. If these people are on the Supreme Court they will overturn Roe vs Wade. I have known women who are Conservative vote for Democrats for that reason alone. So far, their fears have yet to be realized. Roe vs Wade is still in effect.
During the Kavanaugh hearings (lynching would be a more accurate description) there were women dressed in “Handmaiden’s Tale” costumes marching around. I predict they will be back for Amy Coney Barrett’s hearings. The fraudulent claim that Judge Barrett’s church group is the inspiration for the “Handmaiden’s Tale” has already been made.
Judge Barrett has said she doubts Roe vs Wade will ever be overturned. But what if it was? Would that mean, as the media and Democrats claim, abortion would be abolished? Women would have to go back to back alley abortions….coat hangers?
No, it would simply give the decision to the states. We can make an educated guess at what would happen. Democrat lead states, like California and New York, would vote to keep abortion legal up to and including birth. Republican states would probably restrict abortion to Roe vs Wade’s original intent, the first trimester. It’s possible a state or two might abolish it, but I doubt it.
Democrats have already started their attacks on Judge Barrett. I’ve heard claims that she illegally adopted her Haitian children. I heard an argument made that her adoption of children of color was racist. Then, of course, there is Senator Feinstein’s “your dogma lives strongly in you”. Has Senator Feinstein ever questioned if Congresswoman Ilan Omar’s religious dogma lives strongly in her?
Then there is the claim that Judge Barrett “obeys” her husband and he tells her what to do. I sincerely doubt a submissive woman could achieve what Judge Barrett has achieved. She had already accomplished a great deal before she met her husband while studying law at Notre Dame. She was so highly respected and popular at Notre Dame that they asked her to join the faculty. She was voted Professor of the Year three times. Professor Stephen Yelderman said, “She’s mind-blowingly intelligent, and she’s also one of the most humble people you’re going to meet. Judge Barrett is the complete package”.
Amy Coney Barrett is the kind of woman people would have held in high esteem in the past. Now, according to Democrats, being a good Christian, good wife, mother, friend, and Judge, somehow disqualifies her for the Supreme Court.
Being “mind-blowingly intelligent” Judge Barrett is aware of how Democrats have treated other Justice nominees. That she is willing to face this demonstrates her courage and level of dedication to the Constitution and Country.
I’d like to think Democrats would not embarrass themselves by attacking this obviously qualified, lovely woman but I don’t think they can help themselves. They have moved SO far Left, so anti-religion, so anti-Constitution, anti-American, anti-Law and Order, anyone who supports those things they view as the enemy.
I don’t look forward to watching the Left try to destroy Judge Barrett, but I have confidence she will suffer their slings and arrows with the grace she has demonstrated in her life.
