On Thursday November 18th, during a small and private reception, myself and fellow commissioners had the honor and distinct privilege of presenting special awards to outstanding individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations in the city of Oxnard.
The community relations commission has annual awards in which we recognize the efforts, change, service, and impact certain individuals and organizations have had in our city. Particularly helping the underserved and underprivileged families.
This year we received countless nominations, and although every nominee deserves to be recognized, there could only be a few select winners. And they are as follows:
OUTSTANDING SENIOR CITIZEN:
– Cynthia Morales
– JoAnne E Hatcher
OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL (18-54)
– Corey Branchflower
OUTSTANDING BUSINESS
– Master Tony Nunez
– Port of Hueneme
OUTSTANDING NON PROFIT
– Shelter Care Resources
– Martin Luther King Jr Committee of Ventura County
Congratulations to all awardees for their dedication, commitment, and passion in making our city and our communities better.
As Chair Commissioner for the Community Relations Commission in the city of Oxnard, it is an honor to acknowledge you and your wonderful service.
Also, a special thank you to my fellow commissioners for your continued support and your trust:
Vice Chair Commissioner Stallion
Commissioner Durias
Commissioner Gonzales
Commissioner Paniagua, and
Commissioner Tiffany Lopez
Mayor John Zaragoza also took advantage of this evening and opportunity to present a “Proclamation” to the Community Relations Commission for the Multicultural Festival. A celebration and festival that has been celebrated for 29 years in the city of Oxnard.
