Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 08/29/19 at approximately 10:39 AM, Ventura Police Patrol Officers responded to a call of a stabbing victim inside a residence in the 1200 block of North Ventura Avenue. Upon arriving on scene, Officers located the victim suffering from numerous stab wounds to her upper torso. Officers rendered first aid for the victim until fire and paramedics arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where she died from her wounds.
Further Investigation identified Doyle Johnson as the suspect in this crime. At approximately 10;59 AM Johnson was seen in the vicinity of the victim’s residence and was taken into custody.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Detective Anthony Morales at 805-339-4467.
