Arsonist arrested in May Ventura vehicles fires

see times;”>On May 6th 2014 close to 10pm,  the Ventura Police Command Center received calls from numerous residents in the area of the 7800 block of Costa Mesa St. reporting a fire.  When officers responded they found two vehicles on fire in the driveway of a house.  The vehicles were in close proximity to the residence and the structure was in immediate danger.  Residents of the home were evacuated.  Ventura City Fire personnel arrived on scene and safely extinguished the fire, protecting the structure.  Both vehicles were destroyed and there was partial damage to the attached garage. The total property damage to the vehicles and the structure was estimated at over $100,000.

During the following months it was determined that  Robert Ryan Alamillo, a 21 year old Fillmore resident, was a suspect in this May arson fire.

On November 4th 2014, Tuesday Ventura Police Major Crimes Detectives with the assistance of California State Parole located Alamillo at his residence in Fillmore and took him into custody. Alamillo was booked at the Ventura County Jail for Arson.
