Our Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin spoke yesterday at the Spanish Hills Country Club as a guest speaker of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce.

JobsAboutI am the liaison for the CRWF (California Republican Women’s Federation) to the Chamber.  My husband, Roger, our-company’s CFO and the head of our HR Dept. went to hear her speak and find out what’s going on in Sacramento.

She told us 2000 bills this year (so far) have been submitted for vote. She shared with us that she had to vote on 50 bills in one day, and that Sacramento runs at a very fast pace. Ms. Irwin talked to us about many things, including the “Right to Die” legislation that’s working its way through committees and her concern about legalizing marijuana.

One really exciting note is that Ms.Irwin was the only Democrat who voted no on a “Job-Killing”  bill, AB465, dealing with arbitration.  She said, she took a lot of flak for not voting with her Democrat peers.

As someone who studies legislation and voting records, I have found, most Democrats vote for most “Job Killing” bills.  The Democrat majority, vote through many job killing bills, every year, but the “JOB KILLING” bills I’m talking about, are “deemed “JOB KILLING” by the California Chamber of Commerce. These “JOB KILLING’  bills are the worst of the worst !!! I told Assemblywoman Irwin that she gives me hope, that she could stand up against the pressure of her peers and do the right thing for job creation in our state.  I hope this vote is indicative of a future intelligent and reasonable, common-sense voting record of our newly elected Assemblywoman of the 44th District.

My husband invited Ms. Irwin to tour our company and she has agreed to do so. We are trying to be part of the faces of business in her district that are still trying to stay in California and create jobs for our returning vets and our high school and college graduates.
