AWARD-WINNING YOUNG ARTISTS ENSEMBLE Announces 39TH Annual Family Theatre Season

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Young Artists Ensemble announces its 39th Annual Family Theatre Season.  November opens the season with the creepy and kooky musical, Addams Family: School Edition. Next, audiences explore the amazing world of Roald Dahl with Fantastic Mr. Fox  in January and February. In May the young actors will explore what happens when a mother and daughter step into each other’s shoes in the comedy Freaky Friday.

Addams Family: School Edition begins when Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family — the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! To make matters worse, she has invited him and his family to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.  Performs November 1-19, 2019.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is Roald Dahl’s much-loved story that follows the vain attempts of three farmers to get rid of the fox who regularly steals food from their farms. Outwitted at every turn, the farmer’s ploys backfire. Fantastic Mr. Fox devises a plan which will ensure full stomachs for not only his family, but all his friends, who celebrate with a sumptuous feast. Performances are January 31 – February 16, 2020 with an additional final weekend that includes performances by Conejo Theatre For Everyone on Feb 21-23, 2020.

Freaky Friday is the new musical about an overworked mother and her teenage daughter who magically swap bodies.  They have just one day to put things right again. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. FREAKY FRIDAY is the third and final production in Young Artists Ensemble’s 39th Annual Family Theatre Season and is presented May 1-17, 2020.

Season tickets are available for all three shows with flexible days and times and start at only $30 for adults, children, students and seniors for the Super Discount Friday performances on the second or third Fridays of each production, or tailor your season for $39 adults and $33 children, students and seniors.  Individual show tickets are $19 for adults and $16 for children, students and seniors.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office, or by calling (805) 381-1246 or visiting www.yaeonline.com. 10% discount for groups of ten or more for a single performance only, not available for season tickets.
