Bar Fight leads to arrest for battery on a Ventura Police Officer

On Sunday night, October 10, 2016 at 8:23 PM, the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a 911 call of several subjects physically fighting with security to the rear of Bombay Bar and Grill, 143 S. California St. Additional callers reported hearing subjects say they were going to “shoot the place up.”
The individuals involved in the fight were attending a Heavy Metal band event at the bar and had been removed from security. When patrol officers arrived on scene, they observed a female, later identified as 25 year old Hollywood resident, Marissa Rodriguez, physically fighting with security near the rear door of the bar. Officers attempted to separate them, when Rodriguez began swing at one of the officers. She then kicked a second officer in the leg. Rodriguez was taken into custody with incident.
Rodriguez was arrested and later booked into the Ventura County Jail for battery on a police officer.
No one, including the officers, was injured as a result of this incident.
