Battery victim interviewed in emergency room: Ventura PD search for witnesses

On the Monday 08/10/15 at approximately 7:25pm, the Ventura Police Command Center responded to a call of an injured subject inside the emergency room of Community Memorial Hospital. It was reported the subject was possibly the victim of an assault.

Officers contacted the adult male victim, who said that on Sunday, 08/09/15 at approximately 1am, he was at the San Souci Lounge, 21 S. Chesnut St., when for unknown reasons he got into a verbal argument with the suspect. During the argument, the suspect battered the victim and caused several moderate non-life threatening head injuries.

The victim was uncooperative during the investigation.  The only description of the assailant is he was a black male in his 30’s.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone that may have witnessed the incident or has information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at 339-4488.
