Beauty is in the eye of the behold, even if it’s a melting house…seriously?

By Jennifer Felton

An artist in London has generated a lot of attention by building a two story house in the middle of town that is slowly melting away.

Erected as part of the art exhibit known as the Merge Festival, the house went up at the end of September and has been slowing melting away. The structure, built from 8,000 bricks made of wax and terracotta, mimics a candle making factory that sat near the existing site of the exhibit a couple centuries ago. The artist said this piece was about “making the everyday world extraordinary.”
