Bicyclist seriously injured in Port Hueneme accident

On February 12, 2018 at approximately 9:29 PM, officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist in the 200 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard.

When officers arrived they located the 40-year-old male bicyclist suffering from serious injuries.  He was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Officers determined that the bicyclist was riding eastbound on Channel Islands Boulevard against traffic when he was involved in a collision with a silver, 1990 Toyota Corolla that was travelling westbound.  The driver of the vehicle was interviewed and released.  The investigation is continuing.
