    Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo Announces Two New Board Members

    Camarillo CA.-The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo proudly welcomes JoAnn Stone and Eric Tennessen to the organization’s Board of Directors.  JoAnn serves as Manager for Amgen in the marketing department. Before she became a part of Amgen, she gained tremendous experience in the banking industry as a Corporate Compliance Officer and Vice-President. She raised her son in Ventura County and has been a member of our community for over thirty years, active in several community organizations. She has served as a Director for Boys Scouts of America-Ventura County, the Ventura County Sheriffs Foundation, and as a Director and Board President of Ventura County Executive Women.  JoAnn is excited to join the board and says “The Club has a long and honored history with our community and I am honored to be part of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo and look forward to working with the team.”

    Commander Eric Tennessen serves as the Chief of Police for the City of Camarillo. Eric moved to California from South Dakota, after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. During his career, Eric gained an extensive background in investigations, including assignments at various levels in the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, Moorpark Investigations Unit, Sheriff’s Major Crime’s Unit, Sheriff’s Gang Unit and Special Crimes Unit. In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Eric earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from California State-Northridge. He is also a 2015 graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.  Eric and his wife, Kaylee, reside in Camarillo with their four children. Eric says “I am honored and excited to be joining an organization that has done so much for families in Camarillo over the years.  I look forward to carrying on the tradition of providing for the needs of children and families in our community.”

    Founded in 1967, the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo began at a house on Barry Street before relocating to its current site at 1500 Temple Ave. The club offers a variety of after-school programs, including homework tutoring, recreational activities and educational programming.
