Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) Announce Newest Member to Board of Governors

Agoura, CA – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) is pleased to announce a new member to its Board of Governors, Karen Jefferson.

Jefferson moved to Westlake Village with her husband, Ed in 2006 and joined Westlake Yacht Club, where she was actively involved, “going up the flags” alongside her husband who served as Vice Commodore for two years and then Commodore. During this time Jefferson was responsible for all the social functions of the club, including weekly Friday night activities and six large dances a year.

She also served on the Board of Casa Pacifica Angels for two years, and supports many organizations in the Conejo Valley, including The YMCA, Senior Concerns and Safe Passages, a nonprofit designed to prevent local at risk children from joining gangs by utilizing hands-on police involvement with children in Kindergarten through 6th grades. She looks forward to help integrate that program with the BGCGCV.

Prior to moving to Westlake, Jefferson taught high school and junior high English in Ohio and LAUSD, until retiring to raise a family. While her children were young, she worked tirelessly in their schools and opened and ran the school library at Welby Way Elementary School. For thirteen years she lived in Bel Air Crest where she was on the Master Board and Custom Homeowner Boards for 10 years.  She received an Associate degree as a Paralegal from UCLA and worked briefly as a paralegal before leaving to help with the family businesses, where she manages the office for their avocado ranch, commercial bee apiary, Bloom Honey, and multiple commercial real estate investments.

Jefferson has three grown children and four grandchildren, and enjoy spending time with them, and traveling.
