The effort to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has officially received enough signatures for a recall election this year.
The California Secretary of State on Monday announced that counties have reached the threshold and confirmed at least 1,495,709 verified signatures.

It used to be all the legislating was done in Frank Fat’s back room across from the capitol building on Friday afternoons back when Big Daddy Unruh ruled in Sacramento.
One big problem (not being reported!): despite a Democrat supermajority, the unions still hold the most sway in California lawmaking.
For all their campaigning and electioneering, California Democrats are window dressing. Backroom strong-arming by unions is Sacramento’s dirty little secret. This is ‘governing’ without the consent of the voters!
What would a Republican Governor do about the unions?
A better use of monies to collect signatures would have been to repeal the Top Two Primary (Prop 14) passed in 2010, which created a single primary ballot with the top to candidates moving on to the general election. Prop 14 assured California’s lack of political diversity and dialogue.
