Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 4/08/20 SPPD Patrol Officers responded to a burglary call at Santa Paula High School. Officers discovered numerous administration offices, the girl’s gym and several classrooms had been broken into and numerous items had been taken including a flat screen TV and an I-phone. An SPPD Detective and a CSI Technician responded to the school to assist in processing the scene.
On 4/12/20 SPPD Patrol Officers responded to the area of Palm Court for a burglary that just occurred at Santa Paula High School. As officers arrived, an observant citizen directed responding officers to burglary suspects hiding inside a vehicle. As officers approached the vehicle, the suspects fled. The suspects were not located after a search of the area was conducted. Officers were able to locate numerous laptops taken from Santa Paula High School.
On 5/01/20, SPPD Detectives and Special Enforcement Unit Officers conducted a probation search on Jesus Alvarez, of Santa Paula. During the probation search, officers located numerous items taken during the burglaries of Santa Paula High School. Alvarez was ultimately arrested for 459 PC; Burglary and 463(a) PC; Burglary During a Declared State of Emergency. Alvarez was transported to the Santa Paula Police Department for booking purposes and later transported to the Ventura County Main Jail for lodging.
