Camarillo, California – Camarillo is taking an active role in promoting the safe reopening of businesses, to help the community move forward through this COVID-19 pandemic and recover as safely and expeditiously as possible.
The City of Camarillo is committed to helping Camarillo businesses safely reopen. Our approach in Camarillo is an educational one, and our goal is to help our businesses reopen safely and navigate through the County’s reopening process as quickly as possible. To that end, we have created a new webpage to guide Camarillo businesses through this phased reopening: www.cityofcamarillo.org/reopen.
City staff is conducting business check-in and compliance site visits as businesses reopen to verify the business has proper signage and prevention measures in place, and to provide information and resources that are coming from the County and State. As part of the reopening effort, the City of Camarillo recognizes that businesses may need signage to comply with the prevention plan. Signage for Social Distancing, Face Masks, and the COVID Hotline, are available on the City’s “Reopening Camarillo” webpage, for businesses to easily download, print and post. This webpage will be continuously updated as new information is released.
The City’s Informational Outreach Team has been deployed, with the goal of informing businesses about available resources and how to open in a manner that is safe and complies with orders of County and State. This team will provide State/County Guidance & Requirements to businesses, including the required Checklist, COVID Hotline Flyer, and Registration information. This team will also provide information about relevant Local/State/Federal resources available to them, and a list of businesses which provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and printing services for signage.
Once businesses have completed the self-certification process at www.vcreopens.com, the City will deploy a Compliance Team to expeditiously verify business compliance with the County and State requirements. When businesses are verified by the City’s Compliance Team to have met these criteria of the County, the City will provide “Safe Shop” sticker or flyer for that business to place in their window or door. The purpose of this sticker is to inform the Camarillo community that the City has visited this business, and that the business has represented that it is committed to abiding by the County’s requirements and maintaining a safe environment for their staff and their customers.
