Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
Detectives assigned to the Ventura County Combined Agency Team (VCAT) concluded an investigation of 32 year old Christopher Delacruz of Moorpark, selling narcotics to Ventura County Residents.
During the month of December 2020, VCAT detectives received information that Delacruz was selling heroin and methamphetamine to Ventura County residents. Detectives conducted a two month long investigation of Delacruz. During the course of the investigation, Detectives obtained a search warrant for Delacruz’s residence located in the 100 Block of Majestic Court in Moorpark and a ranch Delacruz was associated with located in the 7000 block of Bradley Road in Somis.
On February 11, 2021, at approximately 1110 hours, VCAT detectives and deputies with the Moorpark Police Department arrested Delacruz. Subsequent to Delacruz’s arrest, search warrants were served at his residence in Moorpark and the ranch in Somis. As a result of the search warrants, detectives seized approximately one pound of methamphetamine, approximately 5 ounces of marijuana, small amounts of heroin and cocaine, a loaded semi- automatic handgun, and an assault rifle.
Delacruz was arrested for violating Health and Safety Code sections 11378 – possession of methamphetamine for sales, 11350(a) – possession of heroin, 11350(a) – possession of cocaine; Penal Code section 30515(a) – possession of an assault rifle, 25100(c) – criminal storage of a firearm, 27545 – unlawful transfer of a firearm. Due to Delacruz’s 3 and 6-year-old children having open access to the assault weapon he was also arrested for violating Penal Code section 273a(a) – child endangerment. Delacruz was booked into the Ventura County Jail and his bail was set at $300,000.00.
The Ventura County Combined Agency Team, also known as VCAT, is comprised of detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and Special Agents from the United States Drug
Enforcement Administration. VCAT is responsible for the investigation and arrest of persons and organizations who are engaged in mid to top-level drug trafficking impacting the residents and businesses of the County of Ventura.
