About Susan Weigt Ochoa

Susan Weigt Ochoa has been creating art out of shells for most of her life.  Growing up with a father who was a free-weight diver and fisherman, shells were a natural part of her household.  When her Dad passed away, she found a small painted rock that she had given to him for a Father’s Day gift and inspired her to continue to pursue her artwork.  Working with shells, Ochoa applies them to different surfaces, studying their colors and shapes, creating unique designs.  Her goal is to “always create a thing of beauty from natural elements.”
