California Women For Agriculture Awards Six College Scholarships

On Wednesday, August 11, the Ventura County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture awarded $1,000 college scholarships to six local students who are planning for studies and careers in agriculture.  The scholarship awards reception was held at Peirano’s in downtown Ventura, and was attended by CWA members, scholarship winners and their families, and special guests including Ed Williams, Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner, and Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios, District Director from Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin’s office.


Scholarships and State Assembly Recognition certificates were awarded to:  Andrew Arroyo attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Katie Cook to attend Colorado State University, Samuel Hoyt attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Enrique Rodriguez to attend Cal State Chico, Fatima Saucedo to attend Cal Poly SLO, and Citlalli Veloz attending Cal State Fresno.
