California’s Approach To Homelessness: That’s Not How This Works

    .

By Stephen Frank,  California Political News and Views

The more California hacks spend tax dollars on the “homeless” crisis, the larger the number.  In Los Angeles the problem grew by 33%.  Statewide the problem has grown by 16%.  Could it be that building agencies and hiring high priced employees is not the answer?  Maybe if we looked at what causes homelessness we could resolve those problems.  That makes it easier.

Between drug addicts, the mental ill and alcoholics, you have 90% of the problem—it is not shelters—it is disease and lack or treatment centers.  Add to that government causing the price of housing to be beyond a large portion of society, and you have the problem in a nutshell.

Want to end homelessness?  Put those on the streets in treatment centers.  End policies that raise the cost of housing.  Fire the high priced folks and provide shelter for those really in need.  What is being done is not working—in fact, it is making things worse.  Stop digging and start helping.

You would think that it’s to California politicians benefit to encourage illegal aliens and homeless people as a primary constituency by their policy making.

Nobody can make any money off the homeless, they don’t earn income and they don’t pay taxes. You can’t charge them rent and the city will never get a return on their investment. Everyone cries about the homeless and vagrants and how they need to helped but the truth is, the politicians do not want to invest any money into the homeless! They should just come out with it and admit it!

    Quite the contrary, Joe. Politicians
, particularly californian politicians, love to through money at losing agenda’s. It gives them reason to tax middle class voters. They can always say they didn’t have enough money to correct the problem.
