Camarillo | Arrests of Vehicle Burglary Suspects

The Camarillo Police Department arrested (S) Paul Ramos and (S) George Lindsay for burglary, identity theft, and possession of burglary tools. Ramos and Lindsay were arrested after a theft from a vehicle was reported in the area of Paseo Camarillo. (S) Anna Ramirez, (S) Alberto Herrera, and (S) Samara Eaves, were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. All five suspects were booked into the Ventura County Jail.
On June 20, 2018, at about 7:30 am, the Camarillo Police Department responded to a vehicle theft in the 900 block of Paseo Camarillo. The victim’s car window had been smashed and a backpack was stolen. The backpack contained the victim’s cellular phone, driver’s license, and credit cards. The victim was contacted by a deputy from the Camarillo Police Department, who began an investigation into the theft. The deputy was able to obtain evidence of possible credit card usage at a local business within the timeframe of the theft.
The deputy responded to the local business, and was able to identify (S) George Lindsay, and another male, later identified as (S) Paul Ramos, as being the users of the victim’s stolen credit card. This information was then relayed to the Camarillo Detective Bureau and the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, who continued the investigation. Based on the purchases made, detectives were able to locate key locations in the city where the suspects may be located. They also identified a possible vehicle. Detectives from the Camarillo Police Department began a search of these high probability locations.
At about 4:30 pm, the two suspects, and two additional people, were observed exiting a store in the Camarillo Outlets east shopping center. A fifth person was waiting in a nearby vehicle. The suspects were contacted by detectives in their parked vehicle. The suspects were found to be in possession of stolen items from the earlier theft. In addition, narcotics, and narcotics paraphernalia, were also located in the vehicle.
(S) George Lindsay was arrested for burglary, identity theft, possession of burglary tools, and receiving stolen property. His bail is set at $60,000. (S) Paul Ramos was arrested for burglary, identity theft, possession of burglary tools, and receiving stolen property. His bail was set at $50,000. (S) Alberto Herrera, (S) Anna Ramirez, and (S) Samara Eaves, who were passengers in the vehicle when it was stopped, were all arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. All five suspects were booked into the Ventura County Jail.
The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind the public to never leave anything of value inside your vehicle. Criminals can access even a locked vehicle in seconds. It is also important to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood to the Sheriff’s Office. Information obtained through these calls for service, frequently leads to the apprehension of criminals involved in other illegal activities.
