Camarillo Fireworks Show Cancellation – Refund Offered

mind arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>The City of Camarillo regrets the failure of its fireworks show operator, Exposhows, Inc., of Santa Monica, to launch the fireworks show due to a last-minute catastrophic firing switch failure.  In accordance with Ventura County Fire Department regulations, all fireworks shows must be fired electronically, and cannot be otherwise fired by hand or by open flame for safety reasons.

“This failure to bring an otherwise wonderful evening of great music, wonderful food, and children’s activities to its expected close with a fireworks show is a big disappointment for the community, and we are as shocked and disappointed as anyone with this unexpected outcome,” said City Manager Dave Norman.  “Exposhows is a highly experienced and respected fireworks show operator, with many successful city and county shows to its credit as well as private sector clients. However, the City will be seeking a full refund from Exposhows for its failure to deliver the contracted show.”

Anyone who purchased a ticket, or was given a ticket upon entrance to Camarillo High School, can present their ticket to the cashier at Camarillo City Hall for a full refund.  City Hall is located at 601 Carmen Drive.

Ticket sale proceeds go to the primary event sponsor, the Camarillo/Somis Pleasant Valley Lions Club, to defray event expenses.  Any event proceeds not used to pay for the event go to the Lions Club for community programs.

There are no immediate plans for a make-up fireworks show.  If a make-up show is offered, the community will be informed in advance.
