Camarillo | FY 2018/19 Community Service Grants

The Camarillo City Council awarded $60,500 in Community Service Grants to 11 non-profit groups on March 28, 2018 to provide needed services to seniors and youth, and to provide cultural enrichment in the community.

In November 2017, the Finance Department posted an article in the Camarillo CityScene announcing the FY 2018/2019 Community Service Grant Program (CSG).  The article informed the grant applicants that were interested in requesting funds to attend an informational workshop held on December 6, 2017. At the workshop, 15 people representing 11 agencies were provided information on the application process.  The application deadline was January 26, 2018.  The City received grant requests from 12 organizations for the CSG Program.

Funding for the CSG Program is comprised of two sources and varies from year to year. The Community Service Grant Program receives a small portion of its funding from beneficiaries of conduit financing projects, for which the City estimates it will receive $1,000 in FY 2018/2019.  Additional funding of $59,550 is available from the General Fund to supplement the funding received from beneficiaries of conduit financing projects.

Each of the requests were reviewed in a City Council Study Session on March 14, 2018, and the following Community Service Grants were approved by the City Council for Fiscal Year 2018/19 on March 28, 2018:
