Luis Aceves (DOB 03/23/56), of Camarillo, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and personal use of a knife for the April 6, 2017, killing of his brother Gilbert Aceves, also of Camarillo.
Luis Aceves and Gilbert Aceves lived together in their family home. They were engaged in an argument which turned into a physical confrontation. During that confrontation, Luis Aceves retrieved a knife and stabbed Gilbert Aceves, causing his death.
Aceves will be sentenced on May 25, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 23 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Aceves will be sentenced to 12 years in state prison. He is being held in the Ventura County Jail without bail.
