This past Saturday, August 24, the Lions Club purchased new back-to-school clothes and supplies for 44 kids in need at Target in Camarillo. The Pleasant Valley (PV) Lions Club was assisted with the kids’ shopping spree by the Lions Amber’s Light Club, and members of the El Rio and Conejo Valley Lions Clubs.
Each child, from the Pleasant Valley School District or RAIN transitional shelter, got to shop with a $150 gift card, and was also given a backpack full of school supplies. After finishing their shopping, the kids and their families received breakfast, courtesy of McDonald’s in Camarillo.
The PV Lions meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, at 7 p.m., in the Freedom Center at Camarillo Airport. The Lions have been providing assistance and monetary contributions in the community since 1945.
